Should you use ages or measurements when ordering?

Most manufacturers use ages in their size labels.
All children vary and each manufacturer has a different idea of what size should fit an average child of that age.
This means that every age given is only approximate.

How to Measure

We recommend that you compare the measurements in the chart with the measurements of a garment your child is currently wearing and not the measurements of your child as this gives a direct comparison of fit.
The chest measurement is always the circumference and is usually the most important measurement.
Christening gowns / robes are meant to be longer than the baby so the length given is only for information.
The measurements shown in each chart are the actual garment measurements we have taken in the shop.
Sizes can vary slightly on each garment.

Other Age/Size Information

The ages given on this site are taken from the garment labels.
Usually the age given is for an age 'from' that size to fit up to the next size.
e.g.
3 month = 3/6 month (approx) if the next size made is a 6 month
6 month = 6/12 month (approx) if the next size made  is a 12 month (please see below for 9 months)
 12 month = 12/18 month (approx)
 18 month = 18/24 month (approx)
 2 year = 2/3 year (approx)
 etc.

Some manufacturers also make a 9 month size in which case it would be:
6 month = 6/9 month (approx)
9 month = 9/12 month (approx)

Sarah Louise 241 Ivory Silk 5 Piece Pure Silk Shirt, Waistcoat, Shorts and Cravat Set
Ivory pure silk short sleeved pin-tuck front shirt with a matching silk cravat nestled underneath the collar. The waistcoat, shorts with braces and matching baker-boy cap with an easy fit elasticated back are again in silk but this time woven to look like linen.
This is one of our best selling outfits as it is perfect not just for Christenings but also so for smart little pageboys and other special occasions but then afterwards you can use all the pieces separately and the waistcoat looks really funky worn over a tee shirt with jeans.
