These are the standard children's shoe sizes used by most of the shoe designers on the Petit Posh site but please note that these are a guide only and different companies can have a different idea of what each size is.
Converting the sizes is not a science and there is no exact formula or standard.
European sizes do not tend to differ from country to country so, if possible, if your child is currently wearing European shoes, see if they have the European size still on them and if so, use that to make your choice.
Converting Clarks, Kickers, Start-rite, Hush Puppies etc: Please be aware that all manufacturers have different fittings so, if you have recently had your child's feet measured then, it is likely that the shop will have used their own measure and this may not give the same fitting for other makes.
Australia and New Zealand seem to use the same shoe sizes as the United Kingdom for boys and girls. The USA and Canada have different sizes for boys and girls.
Children's Standard Foot Length Conversion
If you still have no idea what size shoe you should be buying then try this tip: Stand your child on a piece of paper and draw around their foot. You can then measure the length of the foot shape and although this is a last resort at least you get the size of the foot spread out. Now look at the chart below to see what size you should buy for the foot length you have measured.
Please note, this is only a guide and is only a last resort if you have no idea on what shoe size you need!
